Understanding Sleep Apnea in men

Sleep apnea is a sleeping disorder in which you experience uneven breathing. If you snore loudly and feel tired even after a long night’s sleep, then you may have sleep apnea. Men are three times more likely to have sleep apnea.

What are the risk factors?

Some of the risk factors are:

  • Excess weight

  • Narrowed airway

  • Older age

  • Hypertension

  • Chronic nasal congestion

  • Diabetes

  • Smoking

  • Asthma

What are the symptoms?

  • Noisy Snoring

  • Difficulty in breathing while sleeping

  • Headache right after you wakeup

  • Insomnia

  • Hypersomnia

When to see a doctor?
